The Best Iced Coffee Recipe At Home!
I start every morning with either a homemade iced matcha latte or this iced coffee recipe. I might be biased, but it’s infinitely better than any store-bought latte you’ll ever make. Here are a few reasons why it will make you skip the drive-thru:
- Easy – just brew your espresso or coffee, and combine. There’s no hard work or fancy tools required!
- Versatile – serve your latte plain, or add different syrups and mix-ins to meet all your flavor preferences. Switch it up daily so you never get bored.
- Budget-friendly – say goodbye to $7+ coffees. This recipe is way more cost-effective, and you always have enough ice!

Ingredients and Notes
- Coffee: if you have an espresso machine, you can use it to pull two shots of espresso. No espresso machine? No problem! Brew a cup of strong coffee. Then, let it cool to room temperature, or chill it in the fridge.
- Milk: oat milk is my go-to, but you can use any plant-based or dairy milk you like best.
- Sweetener: I use real maple syrup or simple syrup to sweeten things up a bit. Add more or less to taste.

How to Make Iced Coffee At Home with 3 Steps
- Combine. Fill a glass with ice. Then, pour the brewed coffee on top, followed by your desired amount of milk.
- Enjoy! Sweeten to taste, stir, and sip away.
Flavor Additions
I love a plain iced coffee recipe, but you can never go wrong with flavor additions, too! Some of my favorite ways to switch it up include:
- Sweetener – add sweetness and different flavors with maple simple syrup, honey simple syrup, or brown sugar simple syrup.
- Extracts – include a few drops of vanilla extract or almond extract.
- Spices – add a dash of cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, or allspice for a little extra warmth.
- Mix-Ins – place a bit of strawberry jam, raspberry jam, peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, caramel sauce, or chocolate syrup in the bottom or around the sides of your glass.
- Toppings – top your latte with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, caramel drizzle, chocolate sauce, or chopped nuts for a special treat.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make homemade iced coffee ahead of time?
Yep! You can store brewed coffee or espresso in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Why is my iced coffee watery?
Make sure to brew strong coffee. Or, use coffee ice cubes. That way, when they melt, they won’t dilute the flavor.
