My Favorite Strawberry Cheesecake Overnight Oats

If you love strawberry cheesecake then you are going to be such a huge fan of these strawberry cheesecake overnight oats. The combination of strawberries, tangy cream cheese, and whole grain oats ends up tasting so close to a slice of cheesecake topped with fresh strawberries.

Overnight oats are made by combining whole grain oats with a liquid like almond milk and other tasty ingredients like nut butter, yogurt, or fruit. The oats soak overnight in the liquid, soften, and have the perfect creamy texture, similar to oatmeal, and delicious flavor. They’re perfect to meal prep in advance for a quick and easy breakfast the next day!

Ingredients

Oats: for this recipe, we’re using gluten-free old-fashioned rolled oats. For the best results, I recommend using whole grain, old-fashioned rolled oats and not quick oats or steel-cut oats.

Chia seeds: these help create that thick and creamy texture while also adding extra fiber and healthy fats.

Greek yogurt: for extra protein, this recipe includes plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt. If you like things on the sweeter side, feel free to use a sweetened vanilla Greek yogurt instead.

Cream cheese: we use softened cream cheese to replicate the tangy flavor of classic cheesecake.

Almond milk: I tend to always use almond milk in my oats but fee free to use cashew milk or dairy milk if you prefer.

Lemon juice: a little lemon juice really helps to drive home the flavor of strawberry cheesecake.

Sweetener: you can use your choice of maple syrup or honey. Either will work well!

Strawberries: you can’t have strawberry cheesecake overnight oats without strawberries! if you have access to fresh ripe strawberries, I highly recommend using them for this recipe. However, you could also use frozen strawberries.

Graham crackers: crush up your favorite graham crackers, and sprinkle them on top of your oats for the perfect finish. The crushed crackers mimic a graham cracker crust.

Ways to Customize

  1. Want your overnight oats to be sweeter? Feel free to add another tablespoon of honey or maple syrup to the recipe, or stir more sweetener in at the end right before serving.
  2. Need to keep the recipe dairy-free? You can use your favorite dairy-free Greek yogurt (like coconut milk or almond milk yogurt) and your favorite vegan cream cheese.
  3. Not a fan of strawberries? Use any other berry you prefer! Blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries will all taste great in this recipe!

How to Make Strawberry Cheesecake Overnight Oats

Step One: Add the oats and chia seeds to a mixing bowl, and stir until they’re well combined.

Step Two: Next, add the Greek yogurt, cream cheese, almond milk, lemon juice, and maple syrup to a high-powered blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Step Three: Pour the liquid mixture over the oats and chia seeds, and stir to combine. Then, fold in the strawberries.

Step Four: Transfer the oat mixture to a large, wide-mouthed glass container with a lid. Weck jars or mason jars work well for this! Cover the jar, and transfer it to the fridge for at least 2 hours or up to overnight.

Step Five: Give the oats a good stir. Then, split them into two jars, and add a splash of milk if you want to thin them out a bit. Sprinkle the crushed graham crackers on top, and enjoy!

Topping Ideas

Extra toppings are always a good idea when it comes to overnight oats. Here are a few my favorites:

  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Almond butter
  • Sliced bananas
  • Chia seeds
  • Hemp seeds
  • Shredded or flaked coconut
  • Sliced almonds
  • Fruit jam

How Long Does This Recipe Last?

These strawberry cheesecake overnight oats will stay fresh in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 5 days. While they will still be good to eat after a few days, know that the texture of the oats may change as they soak up more liquid.

I like to make a batch to enjoy for two or three days and then make another instead of doubling the recipe and eating off of it all week long.

Should I Eat My Overnight Oats Hot or Cold?

Overnight oats are typically served cold, straight from the fridge. However, you can heat them up if you want. Just transfer them to a bowl, and pop them in the microwave. Add a splash of milk as desired to create a thinner consistency.
