This Avocado Cucumber Peach Salsa is sweet, tangy, refreshing, and the perfect way to use all of those delicious summer peaches! Made with simple ingredients in just a few minutes, it’s the perfect appetizer, snack, or condiment.

The Best Peach Salsa Recipe

Fresh, juicy ripe peaches are one of the best parts of summer and I love finding new ways to use them. From creamy peach smoothies to sparkling peach lemonade and my gluten-free peach crisp they’re just so good, especially when ripe and in season.

Peaches are usually associated with sweet smoothies and treats but you can also incorporate them in more savory dishes like salsa! This bright and fresh peach salsa is quick to make, full of sweet, tangy flavors as well as crunchy textures. I love to serve it as a dip, but it also works well as a condiment with bowls, salad, and tacos.

Recipe Ingredients

Rice Vinegar: we’re switching this up and using this as the acid instead of traditional lime juice. It works really well with the flavor of both the peaches and cucumbers to add a little brightness and subtle sweetness.

Honey: honey adds the perfect touch of sweetness, enhancing the natural flavor of the fruit. Don’t have honey on hand? Use maple syrup instead.

Salt: just a bit to season the salsa. Adding a pinch of salt also helps to draw moisture out of the fruits and veggies to make the salsa a bit more “juicy”.

Cucumber: I like to use English or Persian cucumbers for this recipe because they have a thin skin so there’s no need to peel.

Avocado: diced avocado adds a boost of healthy fats and a creamy consistency.

Red Onion: rinse or soak the red onion in cold water before using it to take away some of that classic red onion ‘bite’.

Peach: you’ll need one large, fresh peach for this recipe. Peel the skin, and dice it into pieces before you begin.

Cilantro: fresh cilantro is a must in any salsa. Be sure to chop both the stems and leaves for even more flavor.

How to Make This Peach Salsa Recipe

Step One: Whisk the rice vinegar, honey, and salt until well combined.

Step Two: Next, add the cucumber, avocado, red onion, and diced peach. Gently toss until well combined. Enjoy right away, or chill in the fridge until you’re ready to eat!

Tips and Tricks

  • Choose Ripe Peaches: For the best peach salsa, you want to use fresh, juicy peaches. Look for peaches that are bright yellow, red, or pink and free from dark spots. They should also be fairly firm but give just slightly when squeezed.
  • Balance the Flavors: You want to be sure that your salsa has the right blend of sweet and tangy flavors. Give the salsa a taste before serving. If it’s particularly sweet, you might want to add a bit more red onion or rice vinegar to balance things out.
  • Dice It Up: For the best salsa, you want to dice everything, including the peaches, into small, uniform pieces. That way you get a little bit of everything in every single bite!
  • Let the Flavors Meld: Before serving, let your salsa chill for 30 minutes in the fridge to allow all the flavors a chance to blend together.
  • Kick Up the Heat: If you like your salsa on the spicier side, add a diced jalapeños to the mix. Just be sure to remove the ribs and seeds before dicing unless you want it to be extra spicy.
  • Serve It Soon: I find that this salsa always tastes its very best on the first or second day.
  • Adjust the Sweetness: If you prefer a sweeter salsa, feel free to add an extra touch of honey or maple syrup.

What to Serve With This Peach Salsa Dip Recipe

I love to serve this avocado cucumber peach salsa recipe with a side of tortilla chips for dipping, but it’s great in so many recipes! Here are some more of my favorite ways to serve it up:

  1. With grilled meat or seafood like this grilled shrimp
  2. Paired with cilantro lime chicken thighs
  3. Sprinkled over sheet pan steak fajitas or sheet pan shrimp fajitas
  4. As a topping with shrimp tacos

How to Store

Store leftover salsa in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 to 3 days. Give the ingredients a good stir to redistribute everything before serving!
