Ingredients

Cannellini Beans: these white beans are the base of this dip and can often go by white kidney beans. I like to look for a low sodium variety and then rinse and drain them before using in the dip.

Olive Oil: a good high quality olive oil helps to give the dip a nice creamy texture and extra flavor.

Tahini: this has an earthy nutty flavor that works so well with the white beans. Tahini is made from ground sesame and is commonly used in another dip you might know and love, hummus.

Garlic: you’ll need at least one clove of garlic for this recipe. Feel free to add a bit more if you want some more garlic flavor.

Lemon: fresh lemon juice and zest adds some brightness and delicious citrus flavor.

Serving Suggestions

This white bean dip is so easy to customize with different toppings. Here are a few delicious topping options:

  • seasonings – try adding some crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and fresh black pepper to the top of the dip. You could also experiment with dried herbs.
  • olive oil – this dip definitely needs a drizzle of good olive oil before serving.
  • fresh herbs – fresh mint, dill, parsley, or chives would all be delicious on top of the dip.
  • minced olives – try adding a bit of that salty, briny flavor to the top of the dip by mincing a few olives as a topping or using an olive tapenade.

How to Store

Store any leftover white bean dip in an air-tight container in the fridge for 1-2 days.
