Feta Dip Ingredients

Feta: since feta is the base of this dip, you want to ensure that you choose a really delicious good quality feta cheese for this recipe. I recommend going with a block of feta cheese, in a brine, instead of pre-crumbled feta which often includes extra stabilizers and anti-caking agents that prevent the dip from becoming as smooth and creamy as it could be.

Yogurt: you’ll need a bit of plain Greek yogurt to help give the dip the best creamy consistency. I recommend whole milk Greek yogurt for this recipe but if you need to use low-fat yogurt you can as well.

Olive Oil: a bit of olive oil helps to give the whipped feta dip a smooth and creamy texture.

Lemon Juice and Zest: fresh lemon juice and zest give this dip some delicious fresh lemon flavor.

Fresh Garlic: for the best flavor, go with fresh garlic for this recipe.

Salt and Pepper: feta cheese is naturally on the saltier side so I recommend just starting with a pinch of salt and pepper and then adding more to taste.

How to Serve Whipped Feta Dip

This whipped feta dip is delicious all on its own but topping it with a few fresh herbs, nuts, and a drizzle of olive oil just take things to the next level. Here are toppings to finish your whipped feta:

  • crushed red pepper flakes – these add a bit of warm heat and color
  • a drizzle of good olive oil – go with your best high quality olive oil for the perfect flavorful finish
  • fresh mint and parsley – fresh herbs add even more flavor to the whipped feta. Fresh dill would also be delicious!
  • chopped pistachios – these add some much needed crunch to the dip. Chopped almonds would also be delicious on top!
  • honey – if you want to add a bit of sweetness, a drizzle of honey on top of the feta dip is another great option. A bit of hot honey will add both sweetness and heat.

Once you’ve got the toppings all figured out, you can serve the whipped feta with your favorite crisp veggies, marinated olives, pita bread or pita chips, or crostini. You want to serve the dip with a few crunchy items that give you the chance to scoop up all of that delicious feta dip.

How to Store

Store any leftover whipped feta dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
