What Is Chipotle Mayo?
If you’re unfamiliar, chipotle mayo is exactly what it sounds like! Mayonnaise flavored with chipotle pepper. It has the same creamy consistency and slightly tangy flavor as traditional mayonnaise. However, the flavor is amped up with the addition of chipotle peppers and savory spices. It’s mildly spicy, smokey, and an incredibly delicious condiment to add to sandwiches, burgers, and more!
Recipe Ingredients
Mayonnaise: When choosing a mayo for this recipe I like to look for one that is made from a high-quality oil like avocado or olive oil. Above all, be sure to choose a mayo that you actually enjoy the taste of because it’s the base of this recipe.
Chipotle Pepper in Adobo Sauce: you will need two to three chipotle peppers in adobo for this recipe. I like to start with two peppers but feel free to add more if you want even more heat.
Garlic: fresh garlic cloves are really best here to give the mayo the most robust flavor.
Cilantro: you’ll need a bit of fresh cilantro – don’t forget to chop both the leaves and stems for the most flavor!
Lime Juice: adds a nice brightness to help balance out the flavor of the mayo.
