Salmon: you’ll need a one-pound salmon filet for this recipe. Make sure to remove the skin, and cut it into 1-inch chunks.

Coconut sugar: I like to use a bit of coconut sugar in the salmon seasoning to help create a beautiful golden brown exterior and crust. Feel free to use brown sugar if preferred.

Seasonings: you’ll need aprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Tips and Tricks

  • Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. For the best results, you want the salmon pieces to be arranged in a single layer, with a bit of space in between them. Depending on the size of your air fryer you may need to work in batches.
  • Don’t forget to shake the basket. This ensures the bites cook completely, evenly, and are crisp on all sides.
  • Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure your salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees and is safe to eat.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you keep salmon from sticking to the air fryer?

Your salmon shouldn’t stick to the air fryer as long as the pieces are coated in oil. However, you can also grease the basket with cooking spray or use an air fryer basket liner.

Can I make air fryer salmon bites in the oven?

I haven’t tested this recipe in the oven, but it should work! Arrange the seasoned salmon pieces on a greased baking sheet. Then, bake the bites at 400 degrees until they’re cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees.
