Quite Literally the Best Burger Sauce

My recipe for burger bowls with special sauce has been an All the Healthy Things reader favorite for years now and I always get a similar comment from y’all when you make it – “the special sauce makes it!”. So, I thought it was finally time that the burger sauce got its own standalone post because it’s just that GOOD.

This is quite literally the best burger sauce. Creamy, tangy, and has just the right amount of spices for the perfect flavor. It’s an obvious addition to burgers but also a great sauce for dipping and more!

Sauce Ingredients

Mayonnaise: I really love this mayo because it’s made with avocado oil and it tastes great but you can go with your favorite! Just make sure you like the flavor because mayo is the base of this sauce.

Ketchup: this low-sodium ketchup is what I typically reach for.

Yellow Mustard: we’ve got to have that classic ketchup and mustard combo.

Pickle Juice: you’ll just need a bit of dill pickle juice to add some extra tang and saltiness to the sauce.

Dill Relish: you can always adjust the amount of relish to taste, or if you prefer your burger sauce on the sweeter side go with a sweet relish.

Spices: we’re using garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika for a savory flavor and lots of depth.

Step One: Add all the ingredients to a mixing bowl.

Step Two: Whisk until well combined and smooth.

How to Store

You can store this sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for 5 to 7 days. I love to use a mason jar with a lid for storage.

Ways to Use

The most obvious way to use this sauce is with burgers! It’s a must have on a smash burger but also great on these hidden veggie burgers, chicken burgers, or drizzled over healthy burger bowls

You could also use it as dipping sauce with crispy baked potato wedges and air fryer French fries
