Better Than Storebought Maple Simple Syrup
If you’re unfamiliar, basic simple syrup is a type of liquid sweetener made with sugar and water. You can find a wide variety of flavors, which use different types of sugar to create unique tastes.
For instance, for this maple syrup simple syrup, the sugar comes naturally from maple syrup. As a result, the flavor has a distinct molasses-like taste that makes it perfect for fall and holidays!
Plus, unlike store-bought options, you won’t find any unnecessary additives, sweeteners, or preservatives. Natural ingredients are all you need! I always have a batch on hand for myself and love to give it away as gifts, too.
You’ll never go back to store-bought options again!

Recipe Ingredients
Maple Syrup: you’ll need a half cup of maple syrup for this recipe. Choose a high-quality pure maple syrup that you love the taste of.
Water: use half a cup of water to dilute the syrup and create a pourable consistency.

How to Make this Maple Simple Syrup Recipe
Step One: Add the maple syrup and water to a small pot.
Step Two: Heat the mixture over medium heat until the syrup is completely dissolved.
Step Three: Remove the pot from the heat, and allow the syrup to cool.

Ways to Use
My favorite and the most common way to use maple simple syrup is in drinks, but there are so many ways to put it to use! Some great options include:
- In hot or cold coffees like my pumpkin brown sugar shaken espresso, iced honey cinnamon latte, or homemade gingerbread latte
- Adding extra flavor to black and herbal teas (this would be delicious in a chai latte)
- To sweeten fun fall-inspired cocktails and mocktails
- Drizzled over grilled pineapple or peaches
- To sweeten stir-fry sauces

How to Store
Store leftover syrup in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one month.
