My Go To Fruit Salad Recipe

the juiciest fresh fruit salad for summer snacking!

A juicy fresh fruit salad screams summer to me and when it gets hot outside THIS is the fruit salad recipe I make. It’s bright, refreshing, and the perfect to take with you to the beach, pair with sandwiches, add to breakfast, or just snack on during the day.

I like to keep my fruit salad simple and just use a combination of fresh fruit and a little bit of fresh juice. If my fruit isn’t as sweet as I hoped I’ll add a touch of honey but honestly, I don’t find it to be necessary most of the time.

Look, I know there’s nothing revolutionary about fruit salad but sometimes you just need a really good bowl of cold fruit salad, ok?! hope you love this one!

Ingredients You’ll Need

  1. Fresh Fruit: we’re using a combination of mangoes, blueberries, kiwis, diced pineapple, and strawberries.
  2. Citrus Juice: orange juice and lime juice create a sweet, citrusy dressing.
  3. Fresh Mint: this is optional, but adds the perfect refreshing finishing touch in my opinion.
  4. Honey: add more or less to taste, depending on how sweet you prefer your salad.

Possible Variations

There’s really no right or wrong way to make this recipe. Experiment with different variations to make it the best fruit salad for you!

  1. Fruit – add to or replace the fruit with options like diced apples, grapes, watermelon, oranges, cherries, or peaches. I tend to use whatever fruit I have in my fridge at the time and it always works.
  2. Citrus Juice – you can replace the citrus juice with a bit of pineapple juice if you want!
  3. Sweetener – need a little sweetness but don’t like honey? Use maple syrup or agave!

Can I Use Frozen Fruit?

I don’t recommend it! Frozen fruit is likely to become mushy once thawed and can make your salad watery.

My Top Tips & Tricks

  1. Use ripe, in-season fruits for the best taste and texture.
  2. Dry your fruit well after washing. Otherwise, the excess water will make your salad soggy.
  3. Toss very gently so as not to smash or bruise the fruits.

Can I Make Fresh Fruit Salad Ahead of Time?

Yes! You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days, if needed. As the fruit salad sits it will become a bit more juicy and delicious!
