Healthy Egg Salad Ingredients
Greek Yogurt: I like to use full-fat whole milk yogurt in this recipe, but you’re welcome to use 2% if you prefer. Just make sure you grab plain yogurt and nothing flavored.
Mayonnaise: a little mayonnaise gives the salad a creamy consistency and that classic egg salad taste.
Dijon Mustard: tangy Dijon mustard gives the salad even more depth and flavor.
Lemon: we’re using both the juice and zest to really brighten things up!
Hard Boiled Eggs: the star of the show! You’ll need six large, hard-boiled eggs for this recipe.
Capers: capers have a briny flavor that works really well in this recipe.
Red Onion: for a bit of crunch! Make sure to dice the onion finely to avoid any large chunks.
Fresh Herbs: fresh dill, fresh parsley, and sliced fresh chives take this recipe to the next level!

What Else Can I Add to This Egg Salad Recipe?
As mentioned, this easy egg salad recipe is extremely versatile. So, feel free to experiment with different ingredients to make it your own. Here are a few options:
- Hot sauce
- Crumbled bacon
- Avocado
- Jalapeños
- Pickles or pickle juice
- Chopped celery or carrots
- Extra protein like shrimp, slow cooker shredded chicken, or tuna

How to Make Egg Salad
Step One: Add the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well combined.
Step Two: Next, add the eggs, capers, red onion, and herbs. Gently stir until well combined.
Step Three: Serve immediately, or store for later!

Ways to Serve
My favorite way to serve this recipe is between slices of bread with lettuce for an egg salad sandwich! However, it’s also great over a bed of mixed greens, scooped into lettuce wraps, or served as a dip with crackers and carrots or celery sticks.
How to Store
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days.
Can I Freeze This Recipe for Egg Salad?
I don’t recommend it! The dairy won’t thaw well, and the hard boiled eggs won’t have the best texture after freezing.
