A Matcha Latte Twist on Healthy Chia Pudding

If you’re craving another fun way to use your matcha powder, then look no further. As someone who is a BIG fan of a starting the day with an ice cold matcha latte, this matcha chia seed pudding is one of my favorites.

Simply mix everything the night before, then the chia seeds absorb the liquid to form a creamy, pudding-like texture. Every bite is packed with delicious matcha flavor and plenty of fiber, leaving you nourished and making your matcha-loving heart feel complete.

It seriously tastes like the most delicious matcha latte you’ve ever had – you can even add fresh berries and a little whipped cream, if you want! 🍵

This matcha chia pudding recipe checks all the boxes: nutritious, delicious, and easy to prep and eat on the go.

Matcha Chia Seed Pudding Ingredients

This recipe uses my go-to chia pudding staples with the addition of matcha powder for a unique chia pudding perfect for matcha lovers.

Chia Seeds: Chia seeds may be small, but they are a powerhouse source of fiber and omega-3 fats. Perfect for keeping you full!

Ceremonial Grade Matcha: Make sure to use a high-quality matcha powder that you would typically use for drinking. The flavor of the matcha in this chia pudding is strong so it’s important to make sure you actually enjoy the taste.

Milk: Any milk will work in this recipe but I love the flavor of almond milk. Plus it keeps the recipe dairy free!

Sweetener: Just a touch of maple syrup or honey makes the flavor of the matcha really shine.

How to Make Matcha Chia Pudding

You can then pour the mix into a glass storage container and refrigerate overnight. I like to give the matcha chia pudding another stir before bed to make sure everything is evenly combined. If not, no worries – just stir before serving! The chia pudding will last in your fridge for 3-5 days.

By the morning, the chia seeds will absorb all the matcha powder, sweetener, and milk to form a thick, spoonable pudding. Just grab some toppings and dig in!

Matcha Chia Pudding Toppings

The best part of any chia pudding is the toppings! I typically add fresh fruit, granola, or hemp seeds to recipes like my Vanilla Chia Pudding or Protein Chia Pudding. You can also make it even more decadent by adding whipped cream, chocolate chips, or cacao nibs.

Matcha chia pudding tastes just like a creamy matcha latte, but is actually sneaky healthy. The perfect mid-day snack or treat to start the day!
