This Copycat Cava Hot Honey Harissa Vinaigrette is a better, homemade version of the restaurant condiment! Made with a handful of simple, wholesome ingredients, it combines in a blender and is easy to customize for salads, bowls, burritos, and more.

This Harissa Vinaigrette is My First Step to Having Cava at Home

because everything is so expensive and we have got to start making some things at home!

If you’ve been to Cava, chances are you’ve had their infamous hot honey harissa vinaigrette. Sweet, spicy, and tangy, it adds incredible flavor to any order! I’ve yet to find a copycat version at the store and honestly prefer to make my own condiments, anyway.

So, that’s exactly what I did! This copycat Cava harissa vinaigrette is just as tasty (if not even more so) than the restaurant option, and you don’t even have to leave your home.

Just combine all the ingredients, and enjoy. It comes together in minutes, and unlike the restaurant version, you can adjust the quantities to suit your preferences. Go ahead and make an extra-large batch, too. This dressing stores well, and you’ll be using it on everything!

— Enjoy!

Notes on Recipe Ingredients

  1. Harissa: The star of the show! Harissa is a red chili paste common in North African and Middle Eastern cooking. It has a rich, spicy, smoky, peppery flavor that is so delicious and pairs incredibly well with savory recipes.
  2. Hot Honey: This addsa touch of sweetness and extra spice.
  3. Lemon Juice: The acidity adds brightness and a delicious lemony flavor.
  4. Red Wine Vinegar: This is one of the key ingredients for the base of the dressing, helping create a pourable consistency and adding a sweet, tangy taste.
  5. Salt: Trust me on this! Your dressing won’t taste salty, but you’ll notice a lack of flavor if you omit the salt.
  6. Garlic: You’ll need at least two garlic cloves for this recipe, but feel free to add more if you’re a garlic lover, like me.
  7. Olive Oil: This forms the base of the dressing. Choose a high-quality olive oil that you love the taste of for the best results.
  8. Water: Use this as needed to thin the dressing and achieve your desired consistency.
