Cranberry Whipped Feta Dip: Your New Go-To Holiday App
I love a good dip all year long but when I’m hosting it’s a MUST. During game day season I’m making my cheesy pesto pepperoni pizza dip or crab dip, but for the holidays I love to try and make something a little festive that uses seasonal ingredients.
My whipped feta dip is a longtime favorite, but I wanted to elevate it even more. And what better way than pairing it with seasonal cranberries? The combination was out-of-this-world delicious!
You get a creamy, tangy base with the whipped feta. Then, the cranberry sauce adds that distinct sweet, tart flavor that surprisingly pairs so well. Even better, this dip comes together without a lot of fuss which is exactly what you need for an appetizer!
Cranberry Whipped Feta Dip Ingredients

- Cranberry Sauce: I put a slight twist on my homemade cranberry sauce for this recipe but the important parts are all still there. Cranberries, orange juice and zest, and a little honey all come together to make an outstanding cranberry compote.
- Feta: If you can find it, use a block of feta cheese that’s in brine for the best taste and texture. The quality of the feta matters here and I found that skipping the pre-crumbled options, that contain extra stabilizers and anti-caking agents, prevent the dip from being as smooth and creamy as I like.
- Greek Yogurt: this helps give the feta dip a really creamy consistency so it’s a must. Most recipes call for cream cheese but I like to make this a dip a little on the lighter side by using Greek yogurt instead. Plus, I found that it still gives the dip both the consistency and flavor that you want.
- Olive Oil: this is again for both texture and flavor so use an olive oil that you like!
- Garlic: fresh garlic is really the best for this!
- Toppings: I carefully curated the toppings for this dip to add both flavor and texture. You’ll need chopped pistachios, a little extra honey, fresh thyme, and a little orange zest to really drive things home.
How to Make Cranberry Whipped Feta Dip in 3 Easy Steps!

Ingredients
For the Cranberry Sauce
- 1 cup cranberries
- 1/3 cup orange juice
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 2 tablespoons honey
For the Whipped Feta
- 8 ounce feta, crumbled
- 3/4 cup whole milk yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, smashed
- pinch of salt and pepper, plus more to taste
For Garnish
- chopped pistachios
- honey
- fresh thyme
- orange zest
Instructions
- Make the Cranberry Sauce: Place the cranberries, orange juice, orange zest, and honey in a small pot or saucepan over medium high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil and then lower to a simmer and allow the sauce to cook for 5-7 minutes until all of the cranberries have popped and the sauce has started to thicken. Stirring occasionally while it cooks. Remove the cranberry sauce from the heat and let cool in the fridge.
- Make the Whipped Feta: Add the feta, yogurt, olive oil, garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper to a food processor. Pulse until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
- Serve: Transfer the whipped dip to a serving bowl or platter and top with the cranberry sauce. Garnish the dip with a generous drizzle of honey, chopped pistachios, and fresh thyme. Serve with crackers and enjoy!
Notes
For the best results, I recommend storing the whipped feta and cranberry sauce separately. They will keep fresh in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Once combined, leftover whipped feta cranberry dip will keep fresh covered in the fridge for 1-2 days.
