Happy New Year and Happy January!

I honestly can’t believe it’s 2026 but I’m so excited for a new year and all that it can bring.

For me, January used to be all about restriction, cutting out entire food groups, and focusing more what I couldn’t eat than enjoying the nourishing foods I actually enjoy. I thought this was the way that I had to do it in order to start the year off “right”. It meant that I spent the entire month of January focused on saying “no”, “I can’t”, and “maybe next month”.

My life changed once I realized that it didn’t actually have to be that way. I started to ask myself, what if I welcomed January with open arms instead of restriction? What if I had a renewed intention to focus on nourishing foods after a busy holiday season but did so without any feelings of guilt and shame?

Now, January is the month where I’m a bit more intentional about eating nourishing foods that make me FEEL GOOD while also being very intentional to reject any feelings of guilt and shame around eating.⁣ I firmly believe that doing both of those actions can exist at the same time and January is the time for me to put that belief into practice.

The mission of All the Healthy Things is rooted in the belief that food doesn’t just nourish us physically, it also nourishes us mentally and emotionally. Food is what we gather around, a part of some of our fondest core memories, and is more than just calories.

This January on All the Healthy Things, I’m honoring all of the different ways that food fuels us through Feel Good January and a special challenge. All the details are below and can’t wait to see what you make!
