Description

Delicious Ham and Cheese Sliders on sweet rolls with plenty of cheese and the best hot honey mustard sauce. These sliders are the perfect for a game day, parties, or a delicious way to use holiday leftovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 count Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 3/4 pound sliced ham (leftover or deli ham)
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • chives, thinly sliced

Hot Honey Mustard Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon hot honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Poppyseed Topping

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion

Instructions

  1. Prep and Toast the Rolls: Turn the oven to low broil. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half and place on a lined baking sheet. Toast the halves, cut side up, watching carefully, until golden brown and toasted. Remove from the oven and then lower the oven temp to 350 degrees.
  2. Make the Honey Mustard Sauce: add the mayo, mustard, honey, paprika, and cayenne pepper to small mixing bowl. Whisk together until well combined.
  3. Brush the honey mustard sauce on both sides of the toasted rolls. Then on the bottom half of the rolls, place 6 slices of cheese, then layer the sliced ham, and then top the ham with the remaining 6 slices of cheese. Then, place the top half of the rolls over the meat and cheese.
  4. Stir together the olive oil, poppy seeds, and minced onion. Brush the mixture over the top of the rolls and then cover the sheet pan with aluminum foil. Bake the rolls, covered, at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
  5. After 10 minutes, remove the foil from the sheet pan and bake for additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and the rolls are golden brown and toasted on top.
  6. Top with fresh chives and then cut and serve.
