Description

Learn how to bake potatoes in the oven, and enjoy fluffy, flavorful baked potatoes every time you make them with this step-by-step guide!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium russet potatoes
  • sea salt
  • olive oil
  • optional toppings:
    • butter, salt, pepper
    • thinly sliced green onions, Greek yogurt, salt, pepper,
    • loaded: shredded cheddar, sliced green onion, Greek Yogurt, bacon bits, salt, and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  2. Thoroughly clean the potatoes and remove any dirt or grit.
  3. Prick the potatoes a few times all over with a fork. Drizzle with olive oil and then use your hands to rub the oil all over the skin of the potatoes.
  4. Place the potatoes on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper and then sprinkle salt all over the skin of the potatoes.
  5. Bake the potatoes for 45-60 minutes until completely tender. You should easily be able to stick a skewer of toothpick into the thickest part.
  6. Once the potatoes are tender, remove them from the oven.
  7. Let the potatoes cool slightly (for 5 minutes) and then use a sharp knife to split the top of the potato open and give it a gentle squeeze inward.
  8. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
