Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/41 cup turkey pan drippings, fat removed
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken or turkey broth, plus more if desired
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the butter and let melt. Once the butter is melted, add the flour and whisk until well combined. Let the flour and butter mixture cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute until golden.
  3. Slowly whisk in the turkey pan drippings until they are all incorporated.
  4. Next, pour in the chicken or turkey broth, whisking continuously as you pour it in. The gravy should thicken as it continues cook. If the gravy is too thick for your liking, you can slowly whisk in another 1/4 cup of broth at a time until it reaches the desired consistency. Lower the heat to low.
  5. Give the gravy a taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  6. Once the gravy has reached your desired consistency, remove it from the heat. Transfer to a serving container and serve immediately.
