Description

This Herby Harissa Marinated Salmon is made with smoky harissa paste, spices, and plenty of fresh herbs. It’s packed with flavor and is easy enough to make for a weeknight dinner while also being a show-stopping option for a holiday main dish or special dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound salmon filet, skin removed and cut into 1 1/2 – 2 inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons harissa sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dill, plus more for serving
  • 1 tablespoon chopped mint, plus more for serving
  • 1 tablespoon sliced scallion, plus more for serving
  • zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • lemon juice, for serving
  • flaky salt, for serving

Instructions

  1. Add the salmon, harissa, fresh herbs, lemon zest, olive oil, salt and pepper to a mixing bowl.
  2. Gently toss the salmon in the marinade until well coated and then cover the bowl and let marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium high heat. Thread the salmon onto skewers (if using wooden, soak them in water for 20 minutes before using so that they don’t burn).
  4. Place the salmon onto the hot grill pan let cook for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and the internal temperature reaches 135 degrees.
  5. Remove the salmon skewers from the grill and finish with a generous squeeze of fresh lemon juice, fresh herbs, and a bit of flaky salt.
