These easy Baked BBQ Chicken Thighs are marinated in a homemade spice rub and coated in sweet and tangy barbecue sauce. They’re juicy, tender, and have that perfect caramelized texture without having to use a grill!

- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup bbq sauce
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: Add the chicken thighs, brown sugar, spices, and olive oil to a large mixing bowl. Toss to combine and coat the chicken. Marinate for at least two hours up to overnight.
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
- Pour 1/3 cup of barbecue sauce over the chicken thighs and toss until well combined.
- Place the chicken thighs on the lined sheet pan and bake for 15 minutes. Flip the chicken thighs and brush with barbecue sauce. Bake another 10-12 minutes.
- Flip the chicken again and brush with remaining barbecue sauce. Turn the oven to broil and place the chicken back in the oven. Broil the chicken for 4-6 minutes, until the chicken the barbecue sauce is sizzling, the edges are crispy, and the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove the chicken thighs from the oven and serve!
