Description

These easy Baked BBQ Chicken Thighs are marinated in a homemade spice rub and coated in sweet and tangy barbecue sauce. They’re juicy, tender, and have that perfect caramelized texture without having to use a grill!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup bbq sauce

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken: Add the chicken thighs, brown sugar, spices, and olive oil to a large mixing bowl. Toss to combine and coat the chicken. Marinate for at least two hours up to overnight.
  2. Preheat oven to 425 degrees and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  3. Pour 1/3 cup of barbecue sauce over the chicken thighs and toss until well combined.
  4. Place the chicken thighs on the lined sheet pan and bake for 15 minutes. Flip the chicken thighs and brush with barbecue sauce. Bake another 10-12 minutes.
  5. Flip the chicken again and brush with remaining barbecue sauce. Turn the oven to broil and place the chicken back in the oven. Broil the chicken for 4-6 minutes, until the chicken the barbecue sauce is sizzling, the edges are crispy, and the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Remove the chicken thighs from the oven and serve!
