The Perfect Refreshing Drink: Sparkling Strawberry Limeade

When I was growing up, my favorite drink to order from Sonic was a strawberry limeade. It had just the right amount of sweet from the strawberry syrup, tart from the lime juice, and fizz from being topped off with lime soda. With the weather warming up, and strawberry season in full swing, I thought it would a great time to make a healthier version of my childhood favorite.

This strawberry limeade is made with refreshing lime juice, fresh strawberries, lime sparkling water, and naturally sweetened with a honey simple syrup. Not only is it easy and delicious, this recipe is also Paleo-friendly and made with only all natural whole food ingredients. It’s a drink that everyone will love and enjoy!

Strawberry Limeade Ingredients

Fresh Strawberries: Look for fresh, ripe, juicy strawberries for the best results. Be sure to remove the green tops and wash them well before using.

Lime Juice: There is nothing more refreshing than fresh squeezed lime juice. For the best flavor, I recommend either squeezing your own limes or buying fresh cold pressed lime juice. The shelf-stable lime juice you can find on store shelves will not taste the same.

Honey Simple Syrup: This all natural sweetener gives the drink the perfect touch of sweetness.

Sparkling Water: Lime sparkling water works perfectly in these drinks to give them an extra hint of lime and carbonation without the addition of a sugary soda.

How to Make Sparkling Strawberry Limeades

whole strawberries in blender

Step One: First, make the honey simple syrup. Add the honey and water to a small pot and then heat the mixture over medium heat until the honey is completely dissolved. Remove the pot from the heat and let the mixture cool.

Step Two: Next, add the fresh strawberries and lime juice to a high powered blender and blend until smooth.

Step Three: Pour the strawberry mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove any seeds.

Step Four: Add the honey simple syrup to the strawberry lime mixture and stir until well combined. Chill the mixture for two to three hours until cold.

Step Five: Once the strawberry lime mixture is chilled, pour one fourth to half a cup of the strawberry lime mixture into the bottom of a glass. Add ice and then top off with lime sparkling water. Add a few chopped strawberries and extra lime slices if you like. Stir and enjoy!

  3. Sooooo good! I used orange La Croix because that’s all I had and added tequila. Light and refreshing summer drink!

  4. We made this on Friday for family movie night as a fun, less sweet substitution to juice. It is easy to make, absolutely delicious & approved by our two lions (age 5 & 7). I used my vitamix which made the emulsion and didn’t require straining. We are going to experiment with some other fruits we love & the single syrup Is in and of itself an excellent addition to the cocktail and mocktail mix. Tastes like summer sunshine!
