Description

This Protein Hot Chocolate Recipe is rich, creamy, and full of chocolate flavor! Made with simple, real food ingredients, it’s dairy-free, refined sugar-free, and loaded with protein for a better-for-you comfort food drink.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/4 cups oat milk 
  • 1 tablespoon Dutch cocoa powder
  • 1 scoop unflavored protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup 
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt 
  • whipped cream and chocolate shavings, for garnish


Instructions

  1. Add the milk to a small saucepan or pot and heat over medium-low heat. Being careful not to overheat or boil. 
  2. Once the milk is warmed through, whisk in the cocoa powder, protein powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and sea salt until well combined and there are no lumps. Slowly stream in more milk if needed to reach your desired consistency. 
  3. Once the milk is warmed and everything is well combined, pour the hot chocolate into a mug and serve with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
