Description

This is my go-to Garlic Rice recipe that I make at least once a week! It’s buttery, packed with flavor, so easy to make and the perfect addition to all of your favorite meals!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter or olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1/4 cup sliced green onion, plus more for garnish
  • 2 cups basmati rice (or another long grain white rice), rinsed and drained
  • 2 cups low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Heat a large saucepan, with a lid, over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the butter and melt.
  2. Once the butter has melted, add the garlic and green onion and sauté until the garlic is a light golden brown.
  3. Next, add the rice to the pan and stir until well combined and covered in the butter. Toast for 30 seconds to a minute, stirring constantly.
  4. Add the chicken broth, water, and salt to the pan and stir until combined.
  5. Bring the rice to a boil and then cover with a lid and turn the heat to low.
  6. Cook the rice for 15 minutes and then remove from the heat, with the lid on, and allow the rice to continue to steam for 10 minutes.
  7. Fluff the rice with a fork and then garnish with additional green onion before serving!
